Lexi Gordon nearly became a teammate of Andra Espinoza-Hunter's on the U.S. U-16 national team and now the sweet-shooting Texas wing joins the Blair Academy star as players from the Class of 2017 committed to UConn
Bell, who averaged 25.9 points and 9.4 rebounds per game as a junior at L.D. Bell High in Hurst, Tex., becomes the second Texas native to commit to UConn joining current All-American Moriah Jefferson.
Unlike Espinoza-Hunter, who was a frequent visitor to UConn games when her former high school teammate Saniya Chong was being recruited and seemed destined to become a UConn commit, Bell was flying a bit under the radar until she made a visit to campus during the mid-January weekend when the Huskies played Temple.
