William Bigaud Jr., 37, was wanted on charges of murder, home invasion and risk of injury to a minor in connection with the stabbing death of a Middletown woman Monday night.
The victim’s name has not been released but she has been identified as Bigaud’s partner. The Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence said the killing could be the first case of intimate partner homicide during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bigaud was arrested after a brief chase. According to police, Lt. Nathan Taylor was on I-85 southbound near mile marker 18 in Troup County when he ran the registration of a 2015 Toyota Camry and discovered the vehicle was wanted in connection with the Connecticut murder.
