Police have charged Jefton Brown, 25, with the June 2 murder of Jonathan Dawson, 23, Bridgeport, who was found dead near I-95 in East Lyme. On Thursday morning, Brown was taken into custody in Falmouth, Massachusetts.
Police said Brown picked up Dawson in a rental vehicle, where Dawson was shot and killed, before Brown dumped his body on the side of the road in East Lyme. He died of gunshot wounds of the head and neck, according to a staff member at the medical examiner’s office.
Police said Brown took “extraordinary efforts to repair and clean the vehicle to hide evidence that he killed Dawson.
