State officials revoked a Hamden bar’s liquor license after police found more than 150 people on a crowded dance floor in violation of restrictions meant to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Café Studio 1537 is the third establishment to lose its liquor license in recent months after violating COVID-19 restrictions. The state Department of Consumer Protection announced the enforcement Thursday.

“With COVID-19 infection rates on the rise, the gathering hosted at Studio 1537 is exactly the type of super spreader event the sector rules are designed to prevent,” DCP Commissioner Michelle H. Seagull said, in a written statement.
