Police on Wednesday released the name of the woman who died in a stabbing murder in Willimantic Tuesday and labeled the case domestic violence.
Luz Figueroa, 68, was found in the home after police responded to a report of a stabbing on Gem Drive, state police said. Officers didn’t immediately know where the suspect was, and Willimantic police activated their Special Operations Group in an attempt to find the person.
After numerous failed attempts to find the suspect, a robot sent by police found the man in the basement, dead, according to the state police. They said his name was Edgardo Figueroa, 67, Luz Figueroa’s husband.
