A trooper at a highway construction site in Hartford was injured Tuesday night when his patrol car was struck by another vehicle, state police said.
The crash happened about 9:40 p.m. on I-91 near Exit 27, they said. The trooper was seated in the cruiser, which was parked in a left lane for southbound traffic.
Firefighters had to extricate the trooper from the crushed car, police said. Both he and the driver who struck him were taken to an area hospital, state police said.
