A tractor trailer rollover crash that state police said seriously injured the truck driver Monday night on I-84 in Farmington happened when he was sideswiped by a man who kept driving after the collision, state police said.
Troopers caught up with Darnell Porter of Woodbridge Avenue in Ansonia four exits away and charged him with evading responsibility, failure to maintain proper lane, misuse of plates, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance, they said. Porter turned 33 Tuesday.
State police said the tractor trailer driver, Steven Patrick Augustus of Delaware, appeared to have a serious injury.
