A 19-year old Stamford man died after he was thrown from his bicycle by a car and then struck by a second vehicle, police said Saturday.
The unidentified man was struck at about 10:30 p.m. Friday by a car operated by a 46-year-old Bethany resident, police said. The bicyclist fell to the roadway and was then hit by a vehicle operated by a 32-year-old Stamford resident.
Both vehicles initially stopped at the scene, but the operator of the second vehicle left before speaking to police. He was located soon after and interviewed. The operator of the first vehicle stayed at the scene and spoke with officers.
