A few inches of snow may fall in Hartford Saturday, and up to 5 inches may drop in northeastern Connecticut, the National Weather Service said Friday.
The southern part of the state may get very little snow, while parts of Massachusetts to the north may see 8 inches, NWS Meteorologist Rodney Chai said.
Rain will fall first, he said. Hartford-area residents should expect rain showers as early as Friday evening. The rain will become more widespread overnight.
By Saturday afternoon it will start changing over to snow, Chai said, moving in faster than previously forecast.
“Then the system is expected to wind down in the Hartford area by late afternoon, early evening, he said.
