Sisters arrested after they flood Vernon 911 dispatcher with calls, cursing and yelling at her

Two sisters who called a Vernon dispatcher 12 times in four minutes last month to complain about their sibling’s arrest were themselves arrested and charged with harassment, police said Wednesday.

Jenna Merrill, 33, of Ellington Road and Alyssa Merrill, 35, of Mohawk Drive, both in East Hartford, were charged with second-degree harassment Friday, police said.

According to the arrest warrant, the charges stem from a flurry of expletive-laden calls from the women — nine from Jenna Merrill and three from Alyssa Merrill — to a 911 dispatcher sparked by the arrest of their sister, Carlyann Merrill, at town hall Sept.
