Simsbury voters overwhelmingly approved a nearly $99 million budget for the town and school system Tuesday along with a $36.8 million reconstruction of Latimer Lane School.
It appeared likely Wednesday morning that the Meadowood open space acquisition would also pass, but town officials said a machine error involving that question had forced a recount by hand. They expect to have the correct figures by Wednesday afternoon.
The town government budget of slightly less than $25 million passed by a vote of 2,947 to 451, and the school system’s $73.9 million budget was approved 2,922 to 497, according to unofficial results from First Selectman Eric Wellman.
