Search warrant leads to additional drug, weapons charges for Waterbury murder suspect, associate

A Waterbury man charged with murder and his associate are facing new narcotics and weapons charges Tuesday after police searched a South Main Street apartment.

U.S. Marshals and Waterbury detectives arrested Jacob Morales, 24, Monday morning and charged him with the murder of of 27-year-old Luis Robert Vazquez early last month.

Morales was not alone and police also arrested Eliezer Maldonado, 28, on an outstanding warrant for a violent domestic assault in September, Lt. David Silverio said.
