Police said they continue to look for the driver of a pickup truck with a unmatching gate after the person abandoned a sick and neglected beagle in Hamden.
A nearby hiker spotted the blue pickup, which has a darker color gate, on Downs Road about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, police said. The person left the dog at the side of the road and drove away.
The female beagle is old and had long nails, police said.
