On Monday, the Orlando Magic announced that they signed former UConn guard Rodney Purvis, who was formerly a minor league free agent.
Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reported that Purvis will be playing for the Lakeland Magic, their G League affiliate.
The press release said Purvis will be wearing No. 15 for the Magic. He wore No. 44 during his first years in Storrs, but changed to No. 15 for his senior year when his close friend Tyrek Coger, who played for Oklahoma State, died following a team workout on July 21.
