After dominating in the NBA G-League for most of this season, former UConn men’s basketball guard Rodney Purvis has earned a 10-day contract with the Orlando Magic.
Purvis has started in all 37 games he’s played in for the Lakeland Magic — Orlando’s developmental league affiliate —this season, averaging 20.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. He is eighth in the G-League in points per game and has played the second-most minutes per game.
The Raleigh, NC native has been a consistent scoring threat, reaching double-figures in all but three games while reaching the 30-point mark four times and scoring a career-high 40 points in December against the Westchester Knicks.
