Myrtle Stevens Elementary School was evacuated after a “suspicious package” was delivered Monday afternoon, Rocky Hill police said.
“At no time did any student come into contact with the package and there have been no reported injuries to students or staff as a result,” Sgt. Steve Morgan said.
Around 3 p.m., Connecticut State Police, the Rocky Hill volunteer fire department and the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection responded to the report and evacuated the school as a safety measure.
By 5:30 p.m., the Connecticut State Police said the package was safe, and that nobody was “in danger at any point.
