The UConn football team's 12-year-old home is getting a name alteration for the first time, as well as an important addition on the outside.
UConn announced Thursday Rentschler Field will be renamed Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field.
As part of the agreement, United Technologies Corporation (UTC), Pratt & Whitney's parent company, is donating 10 acres of land to the State of Connecticut for additional parking at the stadium.
According to the release, UTC will offer an easement for the donation of an additional 15 acres next to current stadium parking, extending UTC's stadium naming rights through 2030.
