Recap: UConn Men’s Hockey Defeats No. 11 Northeastern

The UConn Huskies overcame a string of penalties and a frantic finish to grab their sixth straight victory after taking down Northeastern 4-2 at Matthews Arena. It was UConn’s first road win over the fake Huskies and first sweep over them as well.

When a team has a power play as dominant as No. 11 Northeastern does, converting on 25.8 percent of its chances heading into UConn’s matchup with the other Huskies from Boston, it’s important to limit penalties. UConn failed at that early on, committing three minor offenses in a 10:56 span between the first and second period, and four overall, but they were able to get it done.
