More than 200 Eversource customers in Hartford West End and an adjoining neighborhood in West Hartford lost power Saturday night when there was trouble with underground equipment in the area, the utility said.
Some residents of the area reported on social media hearing a “boom” right before their lights went out, just before 7 p.m., in the area surrounding Elizabeth Park.
Eversource could not confirm that there had been a boom, but the outage was traced to underground equipment on Scarborough Street. In addition to Scarborough, streets in Hartford such as Asylum Avenue and Prospect Street were affected by the outage.
