A Norwich man was arrested Sunday night after police discovered two pipe bombs, two assault rifles and a set of body armor inside his home after he had an altercation with his roommate.
Andrew Cook, 57, was charged with 13 offenses, including manufacturing a bomb and assaulting a police offer, Norwich police said.
The incident began with police officers initially responding to a disturbance call and report of a fight between the roommates. Officers arrested Cook in connection with the fight but learned he may have had firearms and ammunition manufacturing materials in the home, despite two prior convictions for illegal weapon possession.
