Police make fast arrest in Hartford home invasion, double shooting

A New Britain man was arrested Wednesday night after he confessed to shooting two people during a home invasion in Hartford, police said.

Daniel Grant, 22, of Ellis Street was charged with home invasion, criminal possession of a firearm, risk of injury to a minor, criminal mischief, breach of peace and five counts each of violation of a protective order and trespassing.

According to police, they received a report of a shooting at the intersection of Farmington and Sisson avenues about 7 p.m. When they arrived, they found the victim and witnesses directed them to a suspect who was walking away.
