Police investigate Hartford shooting

Police said they are trying to find out more about a shooting that left a male victim wounded in Hartford Wednesday night.

Officers responded to the area of 10 Winter St. about 7:20 p.m. after being alerted to gunfire by the ShotSpotter gunshot detection system. While they were on their way, a city hospital called police and said a victim had arrived for treatment after being shot, police said.

Police said they don’t know what led up to the shooting. The Hartford police Major Crimes and Crime Scene divisions are investigating.
