The man killed in a deadly collision that also injured two others on Route 59 was a former officer, Easton police said.
Kenneth Lowman, 84, of Monroe retired from the Stamford Police Department in 1984. He had served for 22 years as a police officer.
The accident occurred late Tuesday around 5 p.m. Lowman was a passenger in a Jeep Patriot heading northbound on Route 59 that crossed the double yellow line and side swiped one car, then impacted with another.
Lowman was rushed to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The two injured people involved in the crash remain hospitalized with serious injuries, police said.
