One day after breaking a record for heat Tuesday, Connecticut is in a mid-week cool down.
But Wednesday’s pleasant weather won’t last: Severe storms, and maybe even tornadoes, are in Thursday’s forecast.
The Hartford area broke a heat record at 3 p.m. Tuesday when the temperature at Bradley International Airport hit 90 degrees, said Gary Lessor, chief meteorologist at Western Connecticut State University’s Connecticut Weather Center. It was the 39th day this year at 90 or above, breaking the record of 38 days set in 1983.
Overnight, the dew point dropped and so did the temperature, making for a less humid and cooler day Wednesday.
