Most state residents can expect 10-14 inches of snow by Thursday, even more at higher elevations, Bill Simpson, a National Weather Service meteorologist, said early Tuesday.
People will see the first flakes around sunset Wednesday, and the snow will fall heavily later, with “the brunt overnight, which is a good thing,” he said.
The snow will continue during the morning commute Thursday and throughout the morning, and it won’t stop until probably early Thursday afternoon, Simpson said.
This won’t be the heavy, wet snow that forms slush. Rather, the snow will be light and fluffy.
