Nordstrom – the upscale clothing department store – confirmed Thursday it is not closing its Westfarms mall location in West Hartford, as part of a cost-cutting plan that will close 16 stores as its rides out the coronavirus outbreak.
Nordstrom, a major anchor store at Westfarms, Thursday denied a report from the previous day in Women’s Wear Daily, an industry publication, that listed Westfarms among the closures. On Wednesday, Nordstrom declined to name the locations when asked by the Courant.
“There are no Connecticut stores included in the 16,” Emily Sterkin, a Nordstrom spokeswoman, said Thursday, in an email.
