In the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the second-seeded UConn women’s basketball team blew past the 15-seed Towson Tigers 110-61.
Katie Lou Samuelson returned from a back injury that knocked her out of the last four games. She started and played 22 minutes, collecting 11 points, six assists and five rebounds. Samuelson didn’t appear to be limited by the back at all as she hit the floor multiple times and continued playing without much issue.
It didn’t take long for UConn to establish control over the 15-seed. Towson missed their first nine shots from the field and didn’t score until the 5:22 mark in the first quarter.
