Police said they arrested a Naugatuck man and seized a sawed-off rifle after the man crashed the car he was driving.
The incident began on Sunday at about 2:15 p.m. at Ferry and Exchange streets after a 911 caller reported being threatened by a motorist with a shotgun. The victim pointed out the motor vehicle to an arriving officer as the suspect drove away.
Officers tried to stop the car as it traveled across the Ferry Street bridge and through the Fair Haven Heights neighborhood, [police said. After a brief pursuit, the driver crashed into a house on Front Street near Second Street, police said.
