Maryland State Police have located and arrested a suspect wanted in the murder of a New Haven man earlier this month.
Rashad Ali Hardy, 44, was arrested Friday in Princess Anne, Maryland, a tiny town on the eastern end of the state, while state police served a search and seizure warrant, New Haven police announced late Friday night.
Hardy is accused of shooting and killing 36-year-old Ricky Newton the afternoon of July 10 at a corner store on Rosette Street near Wilson Street in the Elm City's Hill neighborhood, Capt. Anthony Duff said. New Haven police have obtained an extraditable warrant for Hardy and he will be returned to Connecticut soon.
