A city man was charged with stealing water valued at about $2,900 by tampering with meters at properties he owns, police said Wednesday.
Daniel St. Laurent, 59, of 203 Carlton St., faces charges of first- and second-degree larceny and theft of water. St. Laurent is due in court on Sept. 22.
The value of water stolen from multiple properties was $2,862.96, police said. St. Laurent was arrested on Aug. 20 on warrants after a long investigation in which police worked with the city water department, according to a news release.
