When classes resume Monday, New Britain students and teachers will go into the heart of the school year expecting months of a fast-pivoting switch between virtual and in-person classes.
Coaching and extra-help sessions will be done mostly on Google Teams, parents will hear about their children’s progress through videoconferences and school auditoriums will stay empty.
But unlike when the pandemic shut down schools in March or even when this year’s classes began in August, educators say they feel fairly confident that families and teachers are now ready for it.
This fall, the schools began offering evening coaching sessions to help parents navigate the virtual programs their children are using at home.
