Police in Naugatuck said they are trying to find out who ran over a kitten, killing it, after leaving it with another young cat at the side of the road.
The incident happened about 11:30 a.m. Saturday on Hunters Mountain Road, police said. Two kittens were left on the road, and when the person left in a white vehicle, the driver ran over one of the two kittens, killing it.
The surviving kitten was taken to the pound and is being cared for by the town’s animal control officers, police said. The male kitten is in good health.
