Murder suspect, UConn student Peter Manfredonia remains behind bars in Maryland, awaiting extradition

Peter Manfredonia, the UConn student suspected of fleeing two Connecticut murder scenes during a Memorial Day Weekend crime spree, sparking a six-day, multi-state manhunt, remains in a Maryland county jail, apparently while police in the states he fled to consider filing their own charges against him, state police said.

Manfredonia, 23, remains in custody at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center in Hagerstown, Md., a sergeant there said Friday. He said he didn’t know when Manfredonia would be leaving for Connecticut.

State police and a court spokeswoman said they also don’t know when Manfredonia will be extradited and arraigned.
