A Connecticut couple is under arrest and accused of trying to run away with a 4-year-old boy who was left in their care Tuesday, prompting an Amber Alert and urgent search across central Connecticut until all three were located in the woods behind a Wethersfield motel, new court records show.
The boy, Armel Muhammad, did not appear to be harmed when they were found Tuesday evening, but he was transported to Connecticut Children’s for evaluation as a precaution.
David A. Fonda, 37, and Stephanie M. Fonda, 39, were both arrested at the scene, Wethersfield police Lt. Donald Crabtree said.
