With the move of UConn’s radio rights to ESPN, a new voice will be calling Husky football and basketball games for the first time in 26 years. That new voice belongs to Mike Crispino, a longtime Hartford resident who most recently worked as the play-by-play announcer for the New York Knicks and has held a variety of roles across the Madison Square Garden Network realm since 1992.
Crispino replaces the beloved Joe D’Ambrosio, who still has a year remaining on his contract with WTIC 1080, the former rights-holder for UConn athletics. He will have big shoes to fill, certainly, as D’Ambrosio has provided the call for so many historic moments in Husky athletics history.
