A driver being chased by Meriden police after a shooting drove in the wrong direction on the highway Wednesday and crashed head-on into an oncoming car, state police said.
Cequan Tarikanibal Goodman, 25, of Meetinghouse Village in Meriden was released to the custody of Meriden officers after being discharged from MidState Medical Center and arrested by troopers on traffic charges, state police said.
According to troopers, the crash happened about 7:50 p.m., near Exit 8 of I-691 east. Goodman drove a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander up the off-ramp and headed west, the wrong direction.
The Outlander struck an eastbound 2016 Toyota Rav4 driven by Marylee Delaney, 50, of Wallingford, and both vehicles spun around.
