A former McDonald’s manager has been charged with stealing more than $18,000 from the restaurant throughout 2020, South Windsor Police said Thursday.

Vivian L. Benitez, 35, of Hartford, “created and falsified timecards for her employees by manually entering hours into their paycheck system when they did not work,” they added. “Benitez would then sign the paycheck over to herself and cash them.”

She was charged with 64 counts of second-degree forgery, second-degree larceny and third-degree identity theft, police said.
