The school superintendent sent an alert Thursday that police are investigating reports of hacked Snapchat accounts by someone seeking students’ explicit photos.
An individual claiming to be a friend or family member asks a student to send an account password, Superintendent Matt Geary wrote.
“Once the password is obtained, the individual is requesting explicit photos from the account holder in order to regain access to the account,” Geary wrote.
“Even if the request is not granted,” he wrote, “the suspect now has access to all the photos in the Snapchat history.”
