Manchester police officers on Monday called George Floyd’s death under the knee of a Minneapolis cop “a betrayal of the oath we take to protect and serve."
In a prepared statement, town officers also asked people “to consider how hurtful it is to be labeled a racist bent on inflicting physical harm on the citizens we daily strive to protect and serve based on the color of their skin.”
The “Message from the Men and Women of the Manchester Police Department" and the police union comes after the union reacted angrily last week to a statement by town Democratic leaders.
