MANCHESTER — An arrest for a pair of misdemeanor charges in Manchester has sparked an internal investigation — and outcry from community activists after a video of the incident was posted to Facebook.
Police officers responded to a call about a potential domestic dispute at the Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham on Spencer St., on Feb. 26 at 10:48 a.m. By the end of the episode, Dwight Newton-Batchelor, 26, was arrested and charged with second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an officer.
In response to the incident, PowerUp Manchester is holding a rally Saturday, nearly a year after 27-year-old Jose Soto was killed by specially trained regional police outside his mother’s Manchester home.
