A man was wounded in a lunchtime shooting Monday in the Asylum Hill neighborhood, police said, the third shooting in Hartford in about 13 hours.
Police responded to the area of 88 Ashley Street about 12:45 p.m. after receiving an alert from the ShotSpotter gunshot detection system. Officers found the shooting scene, but there was no victim, they said; they later learned that a man had arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle to be treated for gunshot wounds.
The Major Crimes and Crime Scene divisions are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous tip line at 860-722-8477 (TIPS).
