A New Britain man is scheduled to face a judge this month on sex assault charges after he choked a woman until she passed out and later raped her, police said.
Pasquale Sanseverino, 46, of Smalley Street was arrested Feb. 15 and charged with first-degree sexual assault, first-degree unlawful restraint and second-degree strangulation. He also was charged with breach of peace and first-degree threatening — the latter because he vowed to drive into the Connecticut River and drown them both, the warrant said.
He was arraigned in Superior Court in New Britain after his arrest and is scheduled to return on March 31, a court clerk said Friday.
