Police said they arrested an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old in Barkhamsted Monday after the young motorists tried to get away from Winchester officers, crashing a car in Barkhamsted, some 50 miles from where it was stolen.
No injuries were reported. Antonio Marrero-Wallen was charged with second-degree larceny by possession and interfering with police, and the juvenile was arrested on similar charges. A third occupant got away, police said.
Winchester police said they noticed the speeding car in their town about 1:30 a.m. It blew through a red light at Main Street and Case Avenue, and the person behind the wheel refused to pull over for an officer.
