The shooting happened on Collins Street, they said. The man went right to the nearby Saint Francis Hospital for treatment; he is expected to survive.
According to police, they were called to the hospital about 1:30 a.m. after the wounded man, who is in his mid-20s, arrived. The man told investigators he was shot while he was running away.
