Man sentenced for trafficking heroin in Connecticut and other states, storing it in Hartford

A manager in an international heroin trafficking operation was sentenced Monday to nearly six years in federal prison for distributing the drug to three states -- stashing some in a Hartford building, a U.S. Attorney’s spokesman said.

Jose Luis Reyes, also known as Roberto Camacho Figueroa, “Joselito” and “Gordo,” was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Hartford to 71 months, followed by four years of supervised release for trafficking heroin, Thomas Carson said.

According to court documents, an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Hartford Task Force showed that the 50-year-old citizen of the Dominican Republic, who had most recently been living in the Bronx, was in charge of distribution and cash collection when the organization’s leader was living in the Caribbean country.
