A driver was rushed to the hospital Tuesday after a two-car crash that shut down a busy Manchester intersection at lunchtime, police said.
The crash happened about 12:15 p.m. when a westbound car on Tolland Turnpike rear-ended a stopped vehicle near the intersection with Adams and Buckland streets. The driver of the stopped vehicle, who had been waiting for a red light to turn green, was not injured, Sgt. Dan Doyon said.
Police believe the driver of the car that struck the stopped vehicle had suffered a medical emergency. The man was given medical care and taken to Hartford Hospital, Doyon said.
