A passenger in a car fleeing West Hartford police on I-84 Wednesday night got out of the vehicle and jumped over the jersey barrier, landing on a Hartford street some 70 feet below, state police said Thursday.
The man is listed in critical condition at a city hospital, Hartford police said. State police said they are now investigating the case as a “potential use of force incident.”
According to the state police, it started shortly before 9:30 p.m., when West Hartford officers saw a car that was connected to criminal activity. The car headed east on I-84.
