A man was shot and killed Tuesday evening outside an AutoZone auto parts store in Hartford’s Upper Albany neighborhood.
The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. near the store at Albany and Homestead avenues and the man was transported to Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center for treatment, where he later died, Lt. Paul Cicero said.
The shooting is the 20th homicide of the year and the second shooting with injuries since Friday, when police Chief Jason Thody and Mayor Luke Bronin announced 15 state police personnel would be dispatched to the capital city to try to quell a weeks-long spike in gun violence.
