A man was fatally shot in a neighborhood in the southwest corner of Hartford Thursday night, police said.
The man in his 40s was shot outside homes in the area of 138 Hollywood Ave., they said. The neighborhood is on the West Hartford line near Wethersfield.
The gunfire, which happened shortly before 9:15 p.m., was picked up by the city’s ShotSpotter gunshot detection system, Lt. Aaron Boisvert said. Officers arrived and, along with Hartford firefighters and medics, attempted life-saving measures.
