Gerald P. Esposito, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened on Route 151 in the Haddam Neck section of town, they said. The other driver, Lauren Ashley Billings, 24, of the Moodus section of East Haddam, was taken to Hartford Hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries.
According to the state police, Billings was driving a 2019 Hyundai Sonata Sport north and Esposito was driving a 1996 Honda Civic DX south when the cars collided head-on on a curve. The crash happened about 8:45 p.m..
Troopers continue to investigate the collision.
